Questions Landlords Ask Before Buying
Does RentBase track or send any of my data?
No. RentBase sends no diagnostics, usage data, or analytics to an external server. The only outbound connection is the optional, admin-configured Google Maps embed, which only runs on properties where you've supplied an address and turned it on.
Where do tenants log in?
Tenants get their own dedicated, password-protected portal — separate from the WordPress admin — where they view invoices, check lease details, and pay rent.
Can tenants actually pay rent online?
Yes. With WooCommerce and Stripe connected, tenants can pay any open invoice directly from their portal, and RentBase marks it paid automatically once the payment clears.
What do I need to run it?
WordPress 5.9 or later and PHP 7.2 or later. Online rent payments require WooCommerce with a payment gateway like Stripe connected.
What about maintenance requests?
Tenant-submitted maintenance requests with photo uploads and vendor assignment are handled by the separate Maintenance Portal add-on, sold separately from core RentBase.
