Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of the PressPros.io website and the PropPress plugin and related products
we make available for download, purchase, or subscription.
01 Acceptance of Terms
By visiting presspros.io, downloading PropPress, purchasing a PropPress upgrade or add-on, or otherwise
using any service we offer (collectively, the “Services”), you agree to be bound by these
Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Services.
If you are using the Services on behalf of a business or other entity, you represent that you have the
authority to bind that entity, and “you” refers to both you and that entity.
02 Who We Are
Press Pros (“PressPros,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates
presspros.io and develops the PropPress property management plugin for WordPress, along with related
add-ons and services described on our site.
03 Our Products
PropPress is self-hosted software you install on your own WordPress site. We offer it in a few forms:
- PropPress (free) — the core plugin, distributed under the GNU General Public License
v2 or later (“GPL”), available through WordPress.org or directly from us. - Paid upgrades and add-ons — optional purchased features, such as the PropPress
STR Booking Add-on, that extend the core plugin. - Premium support and updates — where offered, a paid subscription covering direct
support and continued access to updates for a purchased add-on, for the period you’ve paid for.
Because PropPress runs on your own WordPress installation rather than on our servers, you are responsible
for your own hosting, backups, server security, and WordPress configuration. We are not a hosting provider
and these Terms do not cover your hosting environment.
04 License to Use PropPress
The core PropPress plugin is licensed to you under the GPLv2 (or later), a copy of which is available at
gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.html.
In short, the GPL lets you use, copy, modify, and redistribute the plugin’s code, including for
commercial purposes, subject to the terms of that license.
Purchased add-ons and premium features may include elements — such as bundled images, icon sets,
documentation, or the PressPros name and branding — that are not covered by the GPL and remain our
property or that of our licensors. Your right to use those elements is limited to what’s reasonably
necessary to use the add-on as intended, and does not include a right to resell or redistribute them
separately.
GPL. What you’re paying for with an upgrade is the add-on functionality, the support that comes with
it, and continued access to updates — not a restriction on the underlying code.
05 Purchases, Upgrades & Renewals
Prices for paid add-ons and support subscriptions are listed on presspros.io at the time of purchase.
We reserve the right to change our prices for future purchases or renewals, and will give you reasonable
notice before any change affects an active subscription.
Refunds
If you’re not satisfied with a paid add-on, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we’ll
issue a refund, provided the request is made in good faith. We may decline refund requests that appear
abusive (for example, repeated purchase-and-refund cycles).
Subscriptions
Where support and updates are sold as a subscription, it will renew automatically at the then-current
price unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from your account on
presspros.io; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and the add-on itself
will continue to function, though you’ll stop receiving new updates and direct support once the
subscription ends.
06 Support & Updates
We provide support for the core PropPress features through presspros.io/support and the WordPress.org
support forum. The STR Booking Add-on and any paid upgrade are supported separately, as described on
their respective product pages, and support may be limited to active subscribers.
We aim to keep PropPress compatible with current versions of WordPress and PHP, but we don’t
guarantee updates on any particular schedule, and we may discontinue a feature or add-on with reasonable
notice.
07 Acceptable Use
When using our Services, you agree not to:
- Use the Services for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that violates the rights of tenants, landlords, or other third parties whose data you process using PropPress;
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to presspros.io, our servers, or accounts you don’t control;
- Misrepresent your affiliation with PressPros, or use our name, logo, or branding without permission;
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute purchased add-ons or premium support access outside the terms of the license under which they were provided;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to bypass license or activation checks on paid add-ons, except to the extent expressly permitted by the GPL for GPL-covered code.
You are solely responsible for the data you and your tenants enter into PropPress — including
tenant profiles, lease terms, and payment records — and for complying with any laws that apply to
that data, such as tenant privacy and landlord-tenant regulations in your jurisdiction.
08 Third-Party Services
PropPress can optionally connect to a small number of third-party or PressPros-operated services, each off by default unless noted:
- Diagnostics (opt-in) — if you enable it under PropPress → Settings → Privacy, anonymous, non-personal data (site URL, plugin version, WordPress version, PHP version, site language) is sent to presspros.io to help us improve the plugin. No personal data or site content is collected.
- Product/update notifications (opt-in) — if enabled, your site periodically checks presspros.io for update announcements, sending only the plugin version and site locale.
- Google Maps (admin-configured) — if you supply a Google Maps API key and enable it for a property, that property’s address is sent to Google to render a map embed. This is governed by Google’s terms and Google’s privacy policy.
- WooCommerce (optional) — if you use WooCommerce to accept online rent or invoice payments, that transaction is subject to WooCommerce’s and your chosen payment gateway’s own terms.
We’re not responsible for the availability or content of third-party services. See our
Privacy Policy for more on what we collect and why.
09 Intellectual Property
Aside from the GPL-licensed plugin code described above, the presspros.io website, our documentation,
marketing content, and the PressPros and PropPress names and logos are owned by us or our licensors and
protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use them without our prior written
permission, except as reasonably necessary to refer to our products (for example, in a review or
integration guide).
10 Disclaimer of Warranties
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent
permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of
merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that
PropPress will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every WordPress configuration, theme,
or plugin combination.
11 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PressPros will not be liable for any indirect, incidental,
special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business
opportunity, arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the
Services will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold PressPros harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including
reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your
violation of any rights of a third party, including tenants or other individuals whose data you process
through PropPress.
13 Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to paid support,
update access, or your presspros.io account if you materially violate these Terms; where practical,
we’ll give you notice and a chance to fix the issue first. Termination of your account doesn’t
revoke your GPL rights to previously downloaded plugin code, which remain governed by the GPL itself.
14 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to conflict
of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Services will be handled in the state or
federal courts located in Tennessee, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
15 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the
“Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice (such as a notice
on this page or by email to registered customers). Continued use of the Services after changes take
effect means you accept the revised Terms.
